Bears are the biggest of the European carnivores. There are two species, the brown bear and polar bear. They have small ears and tiny tails. Brown bear used to live all over Europe, including Britain, but they now survive only in a few forested, mountainous areas, in the Alps, Pyrenees, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. They are not fierce unless provoked. They feed whatever food is available, from fish to honey. Polar bear lives around the Arctic Ocean. Polar bear eat seal mostly. Polar bear also known as Ursus maritimus, isbjorn, ice bear white bear.
